(Line of sight) with other radios drastically improving communications. While increased comms are always a benefit to any operation the real benefit lies in the fact that the antenna is no longer in a position to potentially interfere with the shooters weapons placement, manual dexterity or peripheral vision. Whether you are trying to place a charge, treat a casualty, or lying in the prone, the M.A.S.T. ensures that the antenna will be well out of your way while affording you the best possible communications. The Description that is above is what I got from the website. I am a solider and have used this PIECE OF EQUIPMENT it works great! If this would be for you or a loved one serving in the military this is a great option for your or there kit. The military is going to advanced radios where many more soldiers in a element are having to carry radios, the most common radio is the PRC-149 or I. When you carry this radio you need to carry it so you can get to it being right on the fount of your body armor. The Problem with that is, that when you attach an antenna the antenna will come up in front of your face and even if you tie it down it will still get in the way and if you don't as you run it will hit you when you don't want it to. This allows you to move the antenna to the back of your body armor so it doesn't get in your way. And you can move the antenna High on your back so you will get better communications with better Line of sight. This is perfect for any soldier over seas that is patrolling or is assigned a radio. There is also an adapter witch will allow the user to take there radio and hook up a SATCOM Antenna. The radio that the army is going to can talk on SATCOM channels but only if you are carrying a SATCOM Antenna (not included). How ever if in the confusion of battle the user comes across a SATCOM antenna he will be able to hook up his radio to it.[/i]
