An OM asked me if he could use a balun without any core. During my early experiments, I did a brief test on this subject but I lost the notes in my rough-copy book. I still remember the two formers -1" in diameter which were close wound with bifilar turns of well-insulated wire. Each coil was of 1.5 H inductance. Than, to save space and avoid any external field's influence, I continued the experiments with toroid baluns.
